According to the head of the state corporation Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, the combat aircraft will receive advanced on-board electronics, radar with an active phased antenna array (AFAR) and an electronic warfare system (EW).
At the same time, the top manager noted that right now, within the walls of the company, active work is underway on the project. Despite the fact that the technical appearance of the machine has already been formed as a whole, specialists continue to build the necessary cooperation.
Chemezov also said that the open architecture of the fighter “will allow the aircraft to be adapted to a specific customer.”
The Checkmate prototype was delivered to the United Arab Emirates the day before. It is expected that the aircraft will be demonstrated abroad for the first time at the international exhibition Dubai Airshow.
