Bitter chocolate is also called dark or black. It contains at least 55% of natural cocoa, and milk contains no more than 25–35%.
It should be consumed at least 20 grams per day, but dark chocolate should not be eaten on an empty stomach or as a snack.
“The fundamental difference between black is that it contains less sugar and much more antioxidants. Most of the calories from dark chocolate we get from fat, and not from carbohydrates, as from milk, ”said Grishina.
