Some time back it was reported that the company is planning to bring a smaller 7-seater vehicle and it was believed that the company could bring a 7-seater model inspired by the Triber but a bigger model based on it was a risk. At the same time, bringing a completely new model would have cost more and in such a situation it could also have been a big risk. In such a situation, the company is going to bring a 7-seater based on the successful model Magnite.
Some time back, Kia Motors brought a 7-seater of its Sonnet compact SUV which is being shipped to Indonesia and is being manufactured in India, following the same path Nissan is also going to focus more on exports. Even though putting a 7-seater in a compact SUV sounds good, it is not very comfortable for the passengers and there is very little space left in the third row.
According to sources, there will be no change in its body style and bench seat will be installed at the rear, while the second row will be modified and the folding function will be given to make it easier for those going to the third row. Along with this, the function of sliding will be given in it so that the leg space of both the rows can be taken care of. At the same time, the facility of folding the third row will be given.
In such a situation, overall it is going to be a tight fit in all respects and in such a situation, it will not be suitable for those who are looking for a vehicle with more space. Although it will be beneficial for Nissan that the company will have a different type of product, along with its fruit brand name is also going to attract customers.
The Nissan Magnite was launched in December 2020 and has been receiving a great response since then. If said, this model has worked to keep the company alive in the Indian market. It was brought at a price of just Rs 4.99 lakh, along with it got a 4-star safety rating, due to which it has attracted a lot of young customers. Now it has to be seen how reasonable and safe the company can keep its 7-seater.
The Nissan Magnite compact SUV was recently crash tested by Global NCAP, in which it has been given a 4 star rating. The Nissan Magnite is rated 4 stars and a maximum score of 17 in adult safety. The car was tested in a frontal offset crash test at a top speed of 64 kmph, which did not include side impact testing.
However, some flaws have been found in the chest area of the driver’s side dummy. On child occupant protection, Magnite has scored only 2-stars. The main reason for this is the lack of ISOFIX child seat restraints at the rear of the entry-level model. The Nissan Magnite has been given one point less due to Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a lap seatbelt instead of a three-point system for the rear middle seat passenger and no side head impact protection as standard.
Nissan Magnite is a great model of the company and is the company’s most successful model in India and in such a situation the company is going to bring 7-seater to capitalize on this name. Now it has to be seen whether the new model gets enough customers or not.
