The compact flagship Sony Xperia 5 IV will receive an outdated platform. The smartphone was tested before the announcement

The Sony Xperia 5 IV smartphone, which was previously certified by the US Federal Communications Commission, has now appeared in the database of the popular test application Geekbench.

Geekbench confirms that the smartphone is equipped with a single-chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 system, and not the latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. The tested novelty has 8 GB of RAM. In single-threaded mode, the result was 1152 points, and when using all cores, the device scored 3304 points.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV is said to have a 6.04-inch screen and a body that is 67.1mm wide and 155.74mm high. This is smaller than Xiaomi Mi 12S with a body width of 69.9 mm and a screen diagonal of 6.28 inches. That is, the smartphone will be convenient to control with one hand. The smartphone will receive three image sensors with a resolution of 12 megapixels: Sony IMX557, Sony IMX363 and Sony IMX663. The second camera will be ultra wide-angle, the third will receive a telephoto lens.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and support Wi-Fi 6. In addition, the Sony Xperia 5 IV is the first model in the Xperia 5 series to support wireless charging.

The announcement of the novelty is expected on September 1, while Sony is already advertising it.
