Ilya Sviridov from the Club Service YouTube channel, which has more than 1.2 million subscribers, is regularly the first to take apart new Chinese cars to see what they are made of and give his verdict.
This time, a new Tank 300 SUV arrived at Club Service, which went on sale in Russia only in March of this year. The Tank 300 is offered in Russia at a price of 3,699,000 rubles in the Adventure package, while the more expensive Premium version is priced at 4,049,000 rubles.
As Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes, Ilya Sviridov noted the strangeness of some design solutions, for example, the location of radiators outside the frame, which in the event of an accident will certainly lead to their failure. The solutions for the suspension and organization of the all-wheel drive system turned out to be without tricks, but Sviridov noted the good handling of the Tank 300, including thanks to the stabilizers.
The anti-corrosion treatment of the frame was made selectively, while the corresponding composition was not applied in the cavities. Club Service notes that this is a fairly standard story for most modern cars that have been dismantled on the canal.
The grille mount, wiring and sensor connectors are disposable. The fastening of the wings and parts inside it looks strange: in the event of an accident, you will have to change both the body panel and what it is attached to.
The Tank 300 has massive side sills and a C-pillar, and the roof is heavily reinforced with slats. “Club Service” did not find fault with the quality of welding and covering the seams with sealant, but the sound insulation came under criticism: it was made selectively and using cheap materials. But thanks to the frame design, there is little noise in the cabin.
