Earlier this week, Elon Musk effectively issued an ultimatum to Twitter employees: either they work hard or they quit. Many preferred the second option: several hundred workers applied for dismissal. So what does Musk do about it? He, according to The New York Times, persuades some of the employees to return!
Musk and his advisers reportedly held meetings with company employees they consider critical to talk them out of laying off. And we are talking about those workers who wrote statements in response to the ultimatum.
The publication did not provide details of the conversation, but according to sources, Musk also sent out a letter that talked about softening the policy regarding remote work. Perhaps this letter was the result of a “bargaining” between Musk and disgruntled workers.
