complain to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority
The Central Government has created the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) to control the real estate and to protect the rights of the customer. Through authorization, the government tries to protect the rights of the customers. If a customer complains about the delay in the possession of a house or flat in RERA, then RERA can act on that complaint and first call the builder and pressurize him to return the customer’s money.
RERA may ask for early completion of that project. Also, the builder will have to pay interest on the financial loss caused to the customer due to delay in possession. If even after this the customer does not get the house, then in such a situation the customer’s complaint is sent to the Real Estate Tet Tribunal. If this is not heard, the matter can also be sent to the High Court. After this, the decision on this matter comes from the court itself. For the disposal of such cases, the Supreme Court has created a forum which works like a consumer’s court. In the last few years, the court has given many such decisions which are in favor of the customers.
Keep paying the EMI of the bank
Even if you have not got the possession of the house, then do not stop paying EMI in such a situation. In such a situation, your CIBIL score can be adversely affected because non-payment of loan EMI can affect your credit score.
