The prototype of the passenger electric car “Atom” will be created in the spring, as stated by the General Director of KamAZ Sergey Kogogin at the final session of the city council of Naberezhnye Chelny.
According to the head of the Chelny auto giant, the prototype will be ready in May 2023, and by 2030 KamAZ plans to receive an additional 350 billion rubles in revenue from passenger vehicles.
The electric car is being developed by a start-up of the same name, owned by Sergey Kogogin and entrepreneur Ruben Vardanyan. In terms of dimensions, the Atom will correspond to the B-class: its length should be 3750 mm, and the wheelbase will be 2515 mm.
According to preliminary data, he will receive four versions: a two-door city “Duo”, a family “Family”, as well as separate versions for taxis and delivery services. The maximum power reserve will be about 500 kilometers.
The start of sales of Atom is scheduled for 2025.
