Vasily Yelistratov, head of the department for the development of artificial intelligence technologies of the Russian Defense Ministry, said that the department is using the experience of a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine to improve weapons systems.
Journalists asked him a question about whether the experience gained by the RF Armed Forces as part of a special operation is being analyzed for developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
“I can say one thing – the guys are working selflessly, well, and we are getting all the necessary information in the form of feedback in order to make weapons systems even more efficient and smarter,” replied Vasily Elistratov.
In addition, the head of the main department for innovative development of the military department, Alexander Osadchuk, announced the creation of a department for the development of artificial intelligence in the structure of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to intensify work on the use of these technologies in the development of weapons.
Last week, the Russian Defense Ministry held the Army-2022 forum, at which contracts worth more than 500 billion rubles were signed. As a result of the implementation of these contracts, the domestic Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will receive more than 3,700 new models of equipment.
