First Maruti 800 Owner In India: Maruti is the most loved name for car owners in India and this company has completed almost 40 years. In 1983, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi launched the first car of the Maruti industry, the Maruti 800, which was bought by Harpal Singh, a resident of Delhi. This car has been in India for 39 years and it has been restored and showcased by Maruti Suzuki at its Delhi headquarters. The 39-year-old first Maruti 800 still looks the same as it did 39 years ago. Now let us tell you the story of Maruti’s first car along with the story of becoming Maruti Suzuki India Limited from Maruti Udyog. It was December 14, 1983, when Harpal Singh was handed over the keys of the first Maruti 800 car by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi after launching it. At that time, Harpal Singh had bought a Maruti 800 for Rs 47,500. This hatchback was produced by a company called Maruti Udyog Limited. Maruti had set up a manufacturing plant in Haryana. In the year 2010, Harpal Singh said goodbye to the world and then his car could not be taken care of as well.
Delhi and Dilwal’s car is Maruti 900
Harpal Singh later contacted Maruti to get the car restored and then Maruti Suzuki transformed the car and made it exactly the way it was 39 years ago. After this the first Maruti 800 was showcased at the Maruti Suzuki Headquarters in Delhi. Shashank Srivastava, executive director of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, shared a photo with the restored model of the first Maruti 800 in the past. Now let us tell you that Maruti Udyog Limited and Suzuki Motor Corporation had a partnership over time and by the year 1990, Suzuki’s market share increased to 50 percent and then this company became Maruti Suzuki.
