The Russian representative office of the Chinese company FAW announced that they began to officially supply cars of the premium Hongqi brand, which belongs to FAW, to the country.
Hongqi at the moment can occupy an unexpectedly empty niche. The fact is that the official deliveries of premium cars from European and Asian companies to the Russian Federation have been stopped, and among Chinese brands there is only Voyah, but these are mostly electric cars. As a result, Hongqi may become almost the only brand that will officially supply premium cars with internal combustion engines to Russia. Hongqi machines have already been sold in Russia for some time, but unofficially.
Initially, Hongqi will bring four models to Russia. The first to appear are the E-HS9 electric crossover and the H9 petrol sedan. Later, the updated H5 and HS5 will join them. Production of the last in China started just yesterday.
The company has not disclosed prices yet, but promises to do so by the end of the month.
