As CEO Elon Musk promised, Tesla has officially raised the price of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) package to $15,000.
Tesla’s Full Autopilot has been in beta for two years now, and it’s still far from true autonomous driving.
Technically, the system can both activate and drive through most areas, including through intersections, but the responsibility remains with the driver, who must remain alert and ready to take control.
Elon Musk warned last month that with wider adoption of FSD Beta 10.69, the company would increase the price of the package from $12,000 to $15,000. Now the promised rise in price has happened and is already reflected in the Tesla online configurator.
For an additional $3,000, the FSD package doesn’t offer any new features yet. However, the “Autosteer on City Streets” feature, which is currently being tested by invitation only, should be available soon.
