Telegram users have encountered an error in the messenger’s applications for Windows and macOS operating systems. The problem appeared with the latest update.
According to user complaints , the app crashes when trying to right-click on a sent message in private chats or groups. This makes it impossible to edit the message or delete it.
Hi-Tech Mail checked and confirmed that the problem does exist. However, not in all situations. For example, on Windows, Telegram crashes only when clicking on a message in group chats. The error was not observed on macOS – it probably does not occur for all users.

There are also reports online that similar behavior is observed in the messenger client for Linux.
According to the official Telegram bug page, this error has happened in the past. For example, a similar issue in Windows 11 was reported at the end of 2023. The next day, the complaint status changed to “Fixed”.
Telegram representatives have not yet commented on the situation. However, on June 5, the messenger founder Pavel Durov published a message about a fresh update in his personal channel. He wrote that the service team is receiving “excellent feedback from the owners of large channels and groups.”
Telegram presented a major update on June 3. It gave users the ability to send HD photos, edit voice messages, and write directly to channel administrators. You can read more about all the innovations in the Hi-Tech Mail article .
