TECNO Unveils Revolutionary Mobile Photography Innovations at Future Lens 2024 Conference
At the Future Lens 2024 conference, TECNO introduced three groundbreaking advancements in mobile photography, each designed to enhance image processing, capture fast-moving objects, and provide superior clarity at high magnification. The conference, held in Chongqing, China, marked the fourth annual event dedicated to showcasing the latest innovations in mobile camera technology.
The first major development unveiled was TECNO Image Matrix, a system that optimizes smartphone resources for faster, high-quality image processing through artificial intelligence. This system leverages TECNO’s updated TAPS (TECNO Algorithm Process Stack) architecture, which streamlines data flow for significantly improved photography speed and quality.
TECNO Image Matrix operates in four key stages of image processing:
- Software Layer: This includes the main image processing components—camera, display, processor, and sensor.
- Deconstruction Layer: It incorporates 10 core algorithms for tasks like noise reduction, stabilization, and image correction.
- Reconstruction Layer: Utilizes the TAPS AI core with four AI engines:
- AI RAW: Enhances photos in low light and backlit conditions, improving clarity and sharpness.
- AI SNAP: Captures fast-moving objects instantly.
- AIGC Studio: Provides advanced image enhancement and generation tools.
- AI UT (Universal Tone): Automatically restores and refines skin tones.
Another notable innovation, EVS Dynamic Snapshot, revolutionizes the capture of moving objects. Unlike traditional cameras that capture pixels frame by frame, TECNO’s technology tracks the full trajectory of a moving object using an event-based visual sensor. This allows the camera to focus on moving subjects with exceptional precision, eliminating blur and enhancing sharpness through AI-powered motion data integration.
Finally, TECNO introduced Tap Any Zoom Dual Prism Telephoto, a solution for three common mobile photography challenges: difficulty focusing, frequent blurring, and limited zoom capabilities. This technology features a dual periscope prism design, lens-shift optical image stabilization, and advanced AI algorithms. Users can activate the feature by simply double-tapping the subject, instantly zooming in for sharp shots of up to 30x magnification. The dual periscope telephoto lens offers 14x magnification, while Telephoto Sweep technology ensures distortion-free, full-frame images, enabling multiple crops without loss of quality.
These innovative mobile photography technologies will be integrated into future TECNO devices, pushing the boundaries of smartphone imaging.
