India’s largest IT firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has hired a significant number of fresh graduates, reportedly more than 10,000 students from various colleges across India. These recruitments were conducted as part of the company’s recruitment drive, facilitated through the National Qualifier Test (NQT).
In recent months, there has been widespread news of tech companies worldwide reducing their workforce, with reports of layoffs still emerging. In this context, TCS’s substantial recruitment comes as a relief for Indian youth seeking employment opportunities in the IT sector.
The recruitment process was initiated in phases, with TCS announcing the administration of the test through TCS iON in the first phase. Many other firms, besides the Tata Group, also utilize this test for their recruitment needs. The application deadline for this recruitment phase was set for April 10, with the second phase scheduled for April 26.
The initial phase of recruitment targeted primary colleges, while the upcoming phase on April 26 will accommodate the remaining students. TCS is conducting recruitment across three categories: Ninja, Digital, and Prime. According to the company’s placement officers, both the National Qualifier Test and campus placements are actively ongoing.
