So, for example, residents of India in the near future will be able to book a taxi in Uber via WhatsApp. According to representatives of IT giants, this step can help attract an additional audience due to the existing base of Indian WhatsApp with an active audience of 500 million people.
The order will take place through the official chatbot in the messenger. At first, only residents of Lucknow will have access to it, but in the future, the launch of the new functionality is planned throughout the country.
Note that users do not have to download the Uber app separately. All actions – from registration to direct call – will take place inside WhatsApp.
Whether a new opportunity will emerge outside of India remains to be seen.
