The delivery of this electric car of Tata is going to start from January 2023. The company has brought this electric car with two battery options – and keeping in mind the demand of the customers, the 24 kWh variant will be preferred in production.
The Tiago EV has been priced at Rs 8.49 lakh which goes up to Rs 11.79 lakh for the top variant. This is just the starting price which is available for the first 10,000 customers, with 2000 bookings reserved for the existing Nexon EV and Tigor EV.
This electric car from Tata produces 60 bhp power and 110 Nm torque with 19.2 kWh battery and provides a range of 250 km on a single charge. At the same time, with 24 kWh battery, it provides 74 bhp power and 114 newton meter torque and provides a range of 315 km in a single charge.
Both its battery packs support fast charging. The Tiago EV takes 3.6 hours to charge from 10 to 100% with a 7.2 kW AC fast charger. On the other hand, this electric car can be charged up to 10-80% in just 57 minutes with a DC fast charger.
Talking about the features, the Tiago EV gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connectivity technology, electronically-foldable ORVMs, leather seats, etc. It gets the connectivity of the ZConnect app with 45 connected car feature, with the help of which you can find real time charge status, car location and turn on/off the AC.
In terms of safety, the Tiago EV gets start and descent assist, i-TPMS, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, push button start/stop and cruise control. It gets two driving modes – City and Sport.
There was a lot of demand for an electric car with a budget under 10 lakhs in the market and Tata Motors has fulfilled it in the form of Tiago EV. It is being discussed a lot at the company’s dealerships but it has to be seen how many booking figures it will be able to convert.
