Tata will hurt Airtel and Jio, bringing this high speed broadband satellite service

New Delhi. Tata group company Nelco has applied for Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) license. Let us tell you that Tata is the fourth such company in India, on whose behalf application has been made for satellite mobile broadband service. Before Tata, Bharti Airtel’s OneWeb and Reliance Jio have applied for satellite service. While an application has also been made on behalf of Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite service. Although Elon Musk’s satellite service has not been approved by the government.

Will get high speed internet connectivity
Tata Group’s Nelco company showed a demo of high speed broadband internet connectivity, in which high speed connectivity will be provided through Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite. During this, low latency rate will be available. Explain that latency is the delay in accessing the internet. Which is measured in milliseconds.

What is satellite connectivity
In this technology, the customer’s mobile is directly connected to the signal from the satellite. It does not require any tower. In such a situation, there is no hindrance in getting network in any season. Also, there is no problem in getting network coverage. In this technology, internet is beamed through some satellites in low earth orbit. However, the signal of satellite connectivity cannot be received in a normal phone. For this, some changes have to be made in the hardware of the smartphone. At present, the feature of satellite connectivity has been given in the iPhone 14 series smartphones. The service is currently available in the US and Canada.

Note Satellite connectivity is not a new system. Earlier, satellite connectivity was used for military and other purposes. However, speed used to be a factor in that. But now companies provide fast satellite connectivity through hardware and software updates.
