Tata Motors has launched the CNG variant of the Tiago NRG in the Indian market.
The Tata Tiago NRG CNG variant is priced between Rs 7.40 lakh to Rs 7.80 lakh, while the Tiago CNG variant is priced between Rs 6.35 lakh to Rs 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tiago NRG XT and XZ variants get CNG options which cost Rs 90,000 more than the petrol-spec variants. Customers can book these variants at their nearest Tata dealership across the country. The Tata Tiago NRG will get a 60-litre CNG tank. Also, there is ample boot space to meet the needs of the customers.
Tata Tiago NRG CNG: Engine
Tata Tiago NRG CNG is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates 84.82 BH power and 113 Nm torque like the other variants. It gets a five-speed manual gearbox. However, in CNG mode, the output gets reduced to 73 PS of power and 95 Nm of torque.
Tata Tiago NRG CNG Features
Tata Tiago NRG CNG gets the same features as Tiago NRG. Key features include a digital driver display, a cooled glovebox, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and adjustable driver’s seat height. In addition, it gets the fuel switch button near the steering column and ‘i-CNG badging’ at the rear.
The rear end also gets wrap-around taillamps and window wipers. Tata’s new Tiago NRG model has a wheelbase of 2400 mm, while its ground clearance is 181 mm.
As CNG is not considered good for rough roads but the company is touting it as “India’s first rough road CNG” car. Hence, the Tiago NRG can be said to be a sportier and more rugged version of the Tiago.
