Now the company is preparing to increase the prices of Tiago EV by three to four per cent. It is expected that the price of electric hatchback will increase from Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000.
At launch, Tata Motors announced that introductory prices would only be for the first 10,000 customers. Electric hatchbacks have received tremendous response from buyers. In less than 1 month, its more than 20,000 booking company was received. In such a situation, the introduction prices of Tiago EV were previously increased to 20,000 customers.
According to media reports, Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passengers Electric Mobility, said the price increase is not just related to introductory prices but also because “Battery prices have increased by 30-35 percent and are not being passed on to customers as a whole.”
Tata Tiago EV is available with two battery pack options – 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The electric hatchback’s electric motor generates 74bhp and 114Nm with 24kWh batteries while delivering 61bhp and 110Nm with 19.2kWH batteries. The small battery version can hold speeds of 0 to 60 kmph in 6.2 seconds while the 24kWh battery version can do so in 5.7 seconds. The range of entry-level models is 250km and the larger battery pack has a range of 315km.
