According to sources, Tata Punch may be added to the company’s electric lineup soon. The Punch SUV currently being sold is built on Tata Motors’ Alpha platform which also supports electric powertrains. Simply put, the Punch could easily be converted to an electric powertrain.
Tata Punch will also be designed on the Ziptron architecture like other electric cars of the company, which is more power efficient than conventional electric platforms. According to sources, the company has started working on the Punch EV. However, it is not expected to be launched soon. As per the information, the Punch EV is being completely manufactured for private customers.
Tata Punch EV: Range and Features
The Tata Punch EV is expected to get a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. In addition, it will also support Tata’s ZConnect suite of 45 connected features. Some of the same features found in the current Punch are expected to be given in the electric version as well. Talking about the range, the Punch EV can deliver a range of around 250-300 km on a single charge.
Tata Punch EV: Price and launch
Tata Punch Price currently on sale is Rs 8.49-11.79 Lakh (Ex-showroom). On the other hand, the price of Punch (Tata Punch EV Price) in the electric version can be between Rs 8-12 lakh, ex-showroom. At this price it will be another affordable electric car just like the Tiago EV.
At present, the company has not disclosed information regarding its launch timeline. But it is being told by quoting sources that Punch EV can be launched in the third quarter of 2023.
