It has an expansive charging infrastructure with over 1,000 charging points in 200 cities under the EZ Charge brand. This classification of chargers will help power two and four wheelers depending on the electric vehicle owner.
As part of the partnership, Tata Power will deploy charging stations at 150 retail outlets located in the commercial and passenger vehicle segments of Apollo Tires. It will be open throughout the year not only for the customers visiting these outlets but also for the general public.
In line with its commitment to Green Mobility and #DoGreen, Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies and Apollo Tires Ltd, a leading tire manufacturer in India, announced a strategic partnership to deploy public charging stations across India Is.
Tata Power’s CEO and MD, Dr. Commenting on the partnership, Praveer Sinha said, “We are delighted to partner with Apollo Tires Ltd for the deployment of EV charging stations in their commercial and passenger vehicle segments.”
He further added that “this partnership reflects our commitment to the growth and expansion of the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country.” The partnership was also commented on by Satish Sharma, President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Apollo Tires Ltd.
Satish Sharma said, “This is one of the many first steps we have taken in the tire and auto components space in India. Setting up of EV charging infrastructure at our business partner’s premises is our step towards promoting green mobility in the country. strengthens resolve.”
He further added that “With Tata Power’s vast service network, we are assured of the availability of seamless charging infrastructure at all locations.” This network of Tata Power’s public EV charging stations will be installed in offices, malls, hotels, retail outlets and places of public access.

Tata Power has also developed a robust software platform for EV charging customers and has released a mobile-based application (Tata Power EZ Charge) to offer a simple and easy charging experience to its consumers.
The app helps in locating EV charging stations, charging EVs and making bill payments online, making it one of its kind. Development and availability of EV charging infrastructure is a critical requirement for rapid adoption of electric mobility in India.
