Tata Motors soon going to bring a new model, Harrier or Safari facelift?

Tata Motors’ Harrier is a popular SUV of the company and based on this Safari is a 7-seater SUV. The last update of both the models was brought in 2020, so keeping in mind the increasing competition in the segment, the company was working on their facelift model. The facelift model of the Harrier was spotted testing a while back.

Some general changes will be made to its exterior but a new premium look and new features can be found in the interior. These SUVs can be given leather seats, leather on the dashboard and soft touch material etc. Along with this, a new theme option can also be brought in the interiors to give them a refreshed look.

Talking about the features, these SUVs can be given 360-degree camera, advanced driver assistance system technology, updated infotainment system and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. At the same time, the ventilated seats and air purifier found in their Kaziranga edition can also be brought in the normal model. The company can release more teasers of this in the coming days.

Talking about the engine option, it will not make any changes in the existing diesel engine but can bring the long awaited petrol engine option this time. Currently available with competing petrol engine options of Harrier and Safari, the company may offer petrol engine option to reach out to more customers.

The technical details of this engine have not been disclosed as such, but the company can give the option of 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine in these SUVs. Presently, they have been given a 2.0-litre diesel engine which provides 172 bhp power and 350 Newton meter torque. With this, the option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox has been given.

Tata Motors sold 47,505 units of passenger vehicles in the month of July, which includes 43,483 units of ICE. Harrier and Safari are among the lowest selling models in this, so the company will again have to bring new and better updates to attract customers towards these models.

Tata Motors’ Harrier and Safari may be very successful models but due to some reasons it has not garnered the expected popularity. In such a situation, now it has to be seen what kind of updates the company brings and how much it affects the price.
