Tiago EV of Tata Motors, one of the big automobile companies, is getting good response from the customers. The company has delivered its 10,000 units in just four months. Its price is between Rs 8.69 lakh to Rs 10.99 lakh. It competes with the Citroen E: C3 as well as MG’s Comet EV.
The company said in a press release that this electric hatchback has helped prevent 1.6 million grams of carbon dioxide in the environment. Tata Motors Vivek Srivatsa, Head (Marketing & Sales), Tiago EV said, “The Tiago EV has achieved the milestone of fastest booking EV as well as fastest delivery of 10,000 units in the country. It seems that even young women drivers are liking it because of its ease of driving.”
The Tiago EV gets two lithium-ion battery packs and two charging options. It is powered by a 19.2kWh battery that claims a 250km MIDC range. It is powered by a 24kWh battery that offers 315km MIDC range. It gets multi mode regions with 4 levels. Tata’s first electric hatchback sits below the Tigor EV in the brand’s line-up. This EV is available in 4 trims XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux. It is based on Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage architecture that uses a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. It makes 74hp and 114Nm with the 24kWh battery and 61hp and 110Nm with the 19.2kWh battery variant.
Last month, MG Motor’s Comet EV was launched. Its price ranges between Rs 7.98 lakh to Rs 9.98 lakh. Booking for this will start from 15th May and it will be delivered from 22nd May. Comet EV has a range of about 230 km. It has 12 inch steel wheels. Its battery is of 17.3 kWh. It is a two-door, four-seat subcompact hatchback. The Comet EV measures 2,974 mm in length, 1,505 mm in width and 1,631 mm in height. Its electric motor gives power of 41.42 bhp and torque of 110 Nm.
