Tata Motors: Tata Motors has once again captured the first position in the sales of EV segment in April 2023. The company sold 4,392 units of EVs last month, which is a 141.72% year-on-year growth and 38.46% month-on-month decline, respectively, as compared to 1,817 units sold a year ago and 7,137 units sold a month ago. Tata’s market share in this segment is 75.2% in April 2023, which was 83.31% in March 2023.
Mahindra sales increased
With the commencement of deliveries of the XUV400, Mahindra sold 505 EVs last month. In which 113.04% MoM growth was seen. In its last month, the company had sold 268 units. And last month, MG Motors sold 335 units of the ZS EV. MG registered a YoY growth of 36.73% but a MoM decline of 32.19%. While 229 units of eC3 have been sold last month. While BYD with combined sales of e6 and Atto 3 sold 154 units, which is a 633% YoY growth as compared to 21 units sold a year ago.

BMW sells three EVs i4, iX and i7 in India. BMW has sold 60 EVs in the last month, which has seen a YoY growth of 252.94% and a MoM growth of 17.65%. Hyundai has sold 51 units of Ioniq 5 and Kona EV. The company registered a YoY growth of 121.74% and a MoM growth of 10.87%. Hyundai is also testing its Creta EV.

Kia currently sells only the EV6 in India. It sold 34 units last month. Like Kia, Volvo also sells an EV, the XC40 Recharge. The car sold 34 units in the last month, which saw a decline of 26% MoM. A total of 5,834 EVs were sold in India last month. Mercedes-Benz also sells the EQB, EQC, EQS and AMG EQS in India.
