Ford Motors had invested Rs 4,500 crore in the Sanand plant. The capacity of this plant of Ford Motors was to produce 2.5 lakh to 2.7 lakh engines every year. However, Tata Motors is not going to produce its engines at this plant.
Tata Motors already has a plant in Gujarat, which is very close to the Ford India plant. Earlier, Tata Motors was also trying to buy Ford’s plant in Tamil Nadu. Tata Motors does not have a single plant in Tamil Nadu. According to a report, Tata Motors has already met the Tamil Nadu government to buy Ford India’s Chennai plant.
