TATA Group: Tata Group plans to buy stake in Bisleri International, know what is the plan

Tata Group & Bisleri: The Tata Group has started talks to acquire a stake in bottled water sales company Bisleri International. Sources gave this information. A source with knowledge of developments said that the talks are still in the early stages, and it is too early to say anything about the conclusion of the deal.

Tata Consumer already sells bottled water under the Himalayan brand
The Tata Group operates its consumer business under the banner of Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL). The company already sells bottled water under the ‘Himalayan’ brand. Apart from this, it also owns the brands of Tata Copper Plus Water and Tata Glucoplus. It is said that TCPL has initiated talks to take stake in the Bisleri brand to strengthen its bottled water business.

Bisleri dominates bottled water market
In the report of market research and advisor Teksai Research, it has been said that in the financial year 2020-21, the bottled water market of the country was around Rs 19,315 crore. The market is expected to grow at a rate of 13.25 per cent per annum due to increasing health and hygiene awareness among the people. At present, only Bisleri dominates this market. Coca-Cola’s brand Kinley, PepsiCo’s Aquafina, Parle Agro’s Bailey’s and IRCTC’s brand Rail Neer also have a strong presence in this market.
