The demand for CNG cars is increasing continuously and due to the rising price of petrol and diesel, its demand has increased rapidly. In such a situation, Tata Motors has launched its two cars Tiago and Tigor in CNG variant in January this year and they are getting great response, in the month of July, the company has sold the highest number of 5293 units.
Because of this, there is a huge increase in the sales of models like Tigor. The company was testing its CNG models of Nexon and Altroz along with Tiago and Tigor CNG, now Altroz can bring CNG after getting good response from these models. At present, there is not a single model available in the premium hatchback segment, so Altroz could be the winner.
The CNG model of the Tata Altroz has been spotted with emission standard equipment, similar to the Nexon model. The same engine options are given in both the cars, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine, though changes have been made in power and torque. The Altroz is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is also available in the Tiago and Tigor.
The CNG version of the Altroz can be brought with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 110 Bhp of power and 140 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual and 6-speed DCA gearbox. There may be a slight reduction in power on the CNG model, while it comes with a manual gearbox.
The CNG version of the Tata Altroz can be brought in a choice of mid and top spec variants and the features can be kept similar to the petrol model. While the CNG variant may cost up to Rs 50,000 more than the petrol model, some new features and equipment may also be offered in comparison.
Tata Altroz has sold 5678 units in the month of July, which is a decline of 19 percent as compared to 6980 units in the previous year, while there has been a growth of 6% as compared to 5366 units in June. On the other hand, there has been an increase of 232% in the sales of Tigor as compared to last year which has been 5433 units.
Tata Altroz is a popular premium hatchback of the company and is made available in petrol, diesel. In such a situation, the company is working on bringing it as an alternative to CNG soon, so its sales can be even better.
