Tata 1mg: Tata Group’s digital health platform 1mg has launched a pilot project to deliver diagnostic samples and medicines in India. The pilot service has started in a single city and is currently available only in Dehradun. This service will be used to deliver medicines and other healthcare items across the city.
These drones work faster as there will be relief in avoiding delays due to road traffic. For this service, Tata has partnered with TSAW, a leading drone logistics service provider. Apart from delivering medicines to far-flung areas, it will also do many other things.
How to handle drone medical samples
The drone carrying medical samples is also designed to carry a payload of up to six kg and is capable of covering an aerial distance of 100 km. A single drone can carry a payload of up to 150 samples.
In addition, these drones will also come with a technology that will help them continuously monitor the temperature while transporting the samples to the lab.
Tata is taking many precautions to fly the drone
To avoid any chances of accidents, Tata 1mg is taking all necessary precautions while flying these drones. The company’s COO Tanmay Saxena has claimed that each drone undergoes tests before and after its flight, which includes battery checks and more.
In addition, the drones also follow a smart mapping technology that helps them find the safest route to fly. In addition, these drones are equipped with anti-collision technology which helps them to understand whether there is an object in front of it or not during the flight.
In cases where they have to make an emergency landing, the drones are also able to locate nearby hubs where they can land safely without damaging any property or parcel.
