The Motor1 publication published data on the best-selling car models in the markets of different countries of the world, as well as on the volumes of these markets.
In China, sales in 2022 increased by 2% to 26.86 million vehicles. The top selling model in China was BYD Song Plus with sales of 459,424 units. Second place goes to the Nissan Sylphy sedan with a score of 446,492 vehicles, and third place goes to the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV (443,424 vehicles).
Second place is occupied by the United States, where half as many cars were sold. Sales fell 8% to 13.83 million vehicles. Ford F-Series pickups lead with 653,957 vehicles, Chevrolet Silverado is second with 523,249 vehicles, and RAM pickups are third with 468,344 units sold.
In Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy and Spain, which account for 75% of the sales of the entire European region, 9.05 cars were sold, which is 6% less than a year earlier. In Germany, Volkswagen Golf (84,282 cars), Tiguan (59,136 units) and T-Roc (58,942 cars) are in the lead.
In France, the bestsellers were Peugeot 208 (88,812 cars), Dacia Sandero (64,293 units) and Renault Clio (64,012 units). In Spain, Hyundai Tucson (21,985 cars) is in the lead, in Italy – Fiat Panda (105,384 units), in the UK – Nissan Qashqai (42,704 cars).
In Russia, sales of Lada Granta amounted to 99,356 cars, followed by Lada Vesta (27,691 units), GAZelle is third with a score of 21,268 cars.
