Chief designer of Checkmate Mikhail Strelets told about it. He noted that in the world, among manufacturers, there has been a tendency towards unification of the aircraft fleet.
“Today, the trend towards unification of the aircraft fleet is gaining momentum in the world. Due to the high degree of interproject unification, the joint use of the Su-57, Checkmate and unmanned aerial vehicles can form an optimally balanced fleet for various tasks with a minimum operating cost and high combat potential, ”Strelets emphasized.
The Checkmate fighter has received advanced stealth and artificial intelligence technologies. The vehicle is equipped with an in-fuselage compartment for air-to-air and air-to-surface aircraft, which can engage up to six targets simultaneously. The speed of the fighter, which will receive the Su-75 index, will be Mach 1.8. The Russian fighter should compete with the American F-35A Lightning II and the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen.
