Naked Science writes briefly about scientific work. The study involved 2019 parents from the United States. They all have at least one child between the ages of three and 18.

The survey showed that 81% of parents consider their children ungrateful for what they have. 58% of respondents expressed concern that they give their children too much material benefits. 42% of those surveyed complained that their child is being selfish.

96% of parents said that children need to be taught to be grateful. And they allegedly succeed in doing this. 88% of the respondents admitted that they constantly force the child to say “thank you” and “please”. Another 60% of parents reported that they regularly force their children to do housework.
