In August 2022, the company’s domestic sales stood at 62,236 units, while in August 2021, the company was able to sell only 38,572 units of motorcycles. The company has registered a huge growth of 61 per cent in domestic sales in August this year as compared to August last year.
The company said exports last month grew by 8.1 per cent to 7,876 units as against 7,288 units in the same period a year ago. Currently, Royal Enfield is selling models like Classic 350, Bullet, Meteor 350, Electra, Himalayan 411, Scrum 411 and Hunter 350 in the Indian market.
The latest bike from Royal Enfield in India is the Hunter 350 which has been launched this year at a price of Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hunter 350 is a cruiser bike built on the company’s new ‘J’ platform. The company has also designed the Meteor 350 on this platform. In this bike, the company has given circular headlamps and tail lights like its other cruiser bikes. This bike is of classic look and LED lighting has not been used anywhere in it.
Royal Enfield usually uses chrome in its cruiser bikes but the company has not given chrome finishing in the Hunter 350. However, despite this, the bike looks quite strong and attractive. The Hunter 350 gets a single piece seat and split rear grab rails, giving it a unique look in the Royal Enfield line-up. The Hunter 350 gets a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with a center-placed fuel filler lid.
The Hunter 350 gets a single pod circular instrument cluster, along with a small tripper navigation pod on its right side which the company is offering in the higher variants. Royal Enfield Hunter is powered by a 350cc engine that churns out 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque. It has been given a 5-speed gearbox.
Hunter 350 weighs 181 kg. This is 10 kg less than the Meteor and 14 kg less than the Classic 350. In this, the use of plastic in many places and changes have been made in the frame. The new design alloy wheels (available only in the higher variant) have been given in the bike, due to which its weight has been reduced.
This bike comes with a ground clearance of 150 mm. This bike has 17-inch alloy wheels. The bike comes with tubeless tyres. Its wheelbase is 1370 mm while the seat height is 800 mm. In India, the Hunter 350 competes with the Honda CB350 RS, Jawa 42 and TVS Ronin.
