Tata Motors has announced an average increase of 0.7 percent in the prices of all its passenger vehicles, including electric vehicles (EVs), from next month. According to the statement issued by Tata Motors, this increase will be effective from February 1, 2024. The company is taking this step to partially compensate for the increase in production costs. The company sells several passenger vehicles including Punch, Nexon and Harrier.
Indian Hotels Company Limited has announced the contract to open its third hotel in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The company has made this announcement on the day of the consecration ceremony. The hotel group said in a statement that the 150-room hotel, spread over 1.3 acres, will be branded as Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) Selections Hotel.
The profit of drug manufacturing company Cipla increased by 32.25 percent to Rs 1,068.41 crore in the October-December quarter of the current financial year. The company had earned a profit of Rs 807.83 crore in the same period a year ago. Operating income in the quarter increased by 13.66 percent to Rs 6,603.81 crore from Rs 5,810.09 crore in the same period a year ago.
Sony Group Corporation has terminated the US$10 billion merger agreement with Zee Entertainment. The decision was taken due to the impasse over who would lead the merged entity. The group sent a notice to Zee to terminate the deal and demanded US$90 million as termination fee for violating the terms of the merger agreement. In the information given to the stock market in this regard, JI refuted all the claims of Sony and said that he will seek legal help.
The profit of private sector ICICI Bank increased by 25.7 percent to Rs 11,052.60 crore in the third quarter of the current financial year. The profit of the bank was Rs 8,792.42 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. On standalone basis, profit increased by 23.6 percent to Rs 10,272 crore. The net interest income of the bank increased by 13.4 percent to Rs 18,678 crore. Other income of the bank increased by 19.8 percent to Rs 5,975 crore. The provision decreased to Rs 1049.37 crore, which was Rs 2257.44 crore in December, 2022.
