Stock Market Live: Dow Jones closed 135 points higher, selling in Asian markets, what are the signs for the domestic market?

 

Stock Market Update Today: Today global signals seem mixed for the domestic stock market. In today’s trading, selling is being seen in major Asian markets. Earlier on Friday, American markets had closed on the rise. On Friday, Dow Jones Industrial rose by 135 points and closed at the level of 38,654.42. NASDAQ Composite had a gain of 267 points and closed at the level of 15,628.95. Whereas the S&P 500 index increased by about 52 points and closed at the level of 4,958.61. The cut in interest rates in America seems to be postponed further, due to which the 10-year bond yield has once again gone above 4%.

Talking about Asia, there is a weakness of 0.14 percent in GIFT NIFTY while there is a gain of 0.55 percent in Nikkei 225. A decline of 1.57 percent is seen in Strait Times and 0.85 percent decline is seen in Hang Seng. While Taiwan is weighted flat, there is a weakness of 1.16 percent in Kospi and 2.66 percent weakness in Shanghai Composite.

    Ban on NSE under F&O

    NSE has added Hindustan Copper to the F&O ban list for February 5, while India Cements, Indus Towers, SAIL and Zee Entertainment Enterprises have been retained in the list. Ban securities under the F&O segment include those companies where the derivative contracts exceed 95 per cent of the market wide position limit.

    FII and DII data

    According to NSE provisional data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers on February 2 and bought shares worth a net Rs 70.69 crore. Whereas domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 2,463.16 crore on February 2.

    Crude below $78

    Crude prices are sluggish and have fallen to their lowest level in 3 weeks. Currently, crude is trading around $77.40 per barrel. WTI crude is at $72 per barrel.

    Selling in Asian markets

    In today’s trading, selling is being seen in major Asian markets. Talking about Asia, there is a weakness of 0.14 percent in GIFT NIFTY while there is a gain of 0.55 percent in Nikkei 225. A decline of 1.57 percent is seen in Strait Times and 0.85 percent decline is seen in Hang Seng. While Taiwan is weighted flat, there is a weakness of 1.16 percent in Kospi and 2.66 percent weakness in Shanghai Composite.
