Register on National Do Not Call
Indian Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) has launched NCPR (National Customer Preference Register) to protect users from Spam Calls. It was earlier known as NDNC (National Do Not Call) Registry. DND service can be activated through this service. With this, users will stop receiving calls from telemarketing or selected industry.

- Open the SMS app on the phone.
- Send START to 1909 in the message box.
- After sending the message, the service provider will send you the option of bank, hospital and other categories along with the code.
- You can send a reply by writing the code of the category you want to block.
- After the request is processed, you will get a confirmation message that the DND service is activated.
- It takes a maximum of 24 hours for the DND service to start.
According to NCPR, the DND service will only block unwanted third-party telemarketing calls and selected industry calls. Your bank’s SMS alerts, online portals and personal third-party calls will not be blocked when DND is activated.
