Ban On Sooji And Maida Export: After banning the export of wheat flour, the central government has decided to impose restrictions on the export of maida and semolina. This decision of the central government will be implemented from August 14, 2022. In fact, in the last two months, after banning the export of wheat and flour, there was a huge jump in the export of maida and semolina. That is why this decision has been taken.
According to the order issued by DGFT, the export of maida and semolina will be allowed after approval from the Inter-Ministerial Panel. Earlier, when the Central Government had decided to ban the export of flour, it was said that export would be allowed only after permission from the Inter-Ministerial Panel. In April 2022, the export of wheat products was 95,094 tonnes, valued at Rs 314 crore. In May, 1.02 tonnes worth Rs 287 crore were exported. According to the order issued by DGFC, between August 8 and 14, the export of maida semolina will be allowed, which has been handed over to customs for export.
In fact, after the prices of wheat, flour, there has been a huge jump in the prices of other products made from wheat. After which the government has taken this decision. Let us tell you that due to decline in production of wheat and decrease in government procurement, the prices of wheat have increased. Earlier, on May 13, 2022, the government had banned the export of wheat.
