Sony Interactive Entertainment, the gaming division of Sony Corporation, announced the suspension of the supply of all its products to Russia, as well as the freezing of its activities in the country. Sony explains its decision by the latest geopolitical events related to the Russian Federation.
It emphasizes that Sony announced the suspension of deliveries to Russia of all its devices, that is, the country will be deprived of direct deliveries of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, as well as branded accessories, including gamepads, headsets and other things.
In addition, Sony will stop selling games from its own studios in Russia, will not introduce the new Gran Turismo 7 in the country, and will disable the PlayStation Store branded game store for Russian users. At the moment, it is not specified how the new Sony policy will affect sales in other stores.
The company also announced that it would donate $2 million to a UN charitable fund aimed at helping children.
