A new feature has been launched in Snapchat. With the help of this, now parents will be able to see the friend list of their children. Also you will know who they talk to.

Snapchat ‘s first parental control tool has launched. With the help of this tool, parents will be able to see who their children are talking to. However, they will not be able to read their conversations. The owner of the popular messaging app has launched a new feature Family Center today i.e. on 9th August. This new feature comes at a time when people are criticizing social media companies for their lack of protection for children. Let us read below to know in detail.

How to use this feature of Snapchat?

Using this new parental control feature is very easy. Anyone can use it easily. Parents can invite their young children to join Family Center on Snapchat .

Once the children’s consent is received, the parents will be able to view the friend list of their children. Not only this, they will also be able to see whom children have messaged on the app in the last seven days. Also they can report any related account.

Snapchat’s head of messaging products Jeremy Voss said in an interview that, however, parents will not be able to read any content and messages sent by their children. This means they can see who their child is talking to, but may not know what they are talking about.

These features will be available in future

Snap says it plans to launch other new features in the coming months. It also includes the feature that when children report a user’s misbehavior, their parents will get a notification.

Before Family Center, Snapchat had some teaser privacy policies. By default, profiles for Snapchat users under the age of 18 are private and they show up in search results only as suggested friends.

Users must be at least 13 years of age to sign up for this messaging app. With this new feature of Snapchat, parents will be less worried somewhere.
