Smartphone processors have risen in price

The Taiwanese chipmaker is raising prices on some of its smartphone chips, according to a new report. The rise in prices reaches 15%.

Especially 4G-enabled processors have risen in price sharply. Such chips are still needed in countries where 5G networks are poorly developed. These countries include Russia and India.

MediaTek rival Qualcomm is expected to raise prices for its chipsets, although this has yet to be confirmed.

It should be understood that the rise in the cost of components will lead to an increase in the total cost of smartphones.
