Smartphone market in India grew by 12 percent last year, Xiaomi retains top position

Vivo has succeeded in becoming the third largest company in the smartphone market on an annual basis. Its market share stood at 16 percent. The company shipped 2.57 crore units last year. However, its annual growth has come down by four per cent. In the previous year, Vivo’s market share was around 19 percent.

Realme has achieved a growth of about 25 percent last year. Its smartphone shipments increased to 242 million units. Its market share has also increased and stood at 15 per cent. The company has benefited from improving planning and stock management. Due to this the supply of smartphones sold has increased. Oppo’s growth last year was 6 percent. The company shipped 2.01 crore smartphones. Its market share was 12 percent. Chinese smartphone companies have increased their share in the country’s smartphone market over the years. With this, big smartphone companies like Apple and Samsung are getting tough competition.
