Skull & Bones wasn’t the first AAA game from Ubisoft. Another one came out a long time ago

The Internet made a lot of fun at the Skull & Bones product class – the head of Ubisoft defined it as AAAA. Well, it turns out that this is not the first AAA game from the French company.

Far cry 6

A user of the Neogaf forum noticed that in 2020, one of Ubisoft’s vacancies mentioned an unannounced AAAA game from Ubisoft Berlin. At that time, the information passed the audience by, but it turned out that we were talking about Far Cry 6. It is typical that the message on the forum is accompanied by the tags “Business” and “Cringe”.

How this status is justified is unclear: initially the letters AAA denoted big-budget blockbuster games, but the industry saw products that were more expensive and, excuse me, more “blockbuster-like” than Far Cry 6 – the shooter received the lowest ratings in the series for many years, and its sales dynamics are inferior the most popular parts of the series. If we use Ubisoft’s logic, GTA VI should be a triple-A game.

Let us remember that the press rated the AAA game Skull & Bones at 60/100, calling it outdated on all fronts . It seems that adding an extra A is not enough to make the public look at the product with fascinated eyes.
