Skoda Auto: Skoda Auto India is about to include more safety features in its new mid-life updated model lineup of the Skoda Slavia sedan and Kushaq SUV. Petr Salk, Brand Director, Skoda India, said that safety is one of the important parts of the company’s strategy and it is making their cars more reliable. The company will include advanced driver assistance systems with its new generation models and mid-life update models.
These features are currently available
Currently, all Skoda cars get safety features like traction control system, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), brake disc wiping, rollover mitigation and tire pressure monitoring system. While hill hold control, rear parking camera, cruise control and rear view camera are also available in Skoda Slavia and Kushaq. Skoda’s ADAS system will get safety features like active forward and reverse collision mitigation braking, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control and adaptive lane assist.
Upcoming Skoda Subcompact SUV
Skoda has announced a new compact SUV for India. It will be sub-4 meter segment in length, which will be built on the MQB A0 IN platform. This new model can come in the year 2024 or 2025. It is likely to get a 1.0L TSI turbo petrol engine with 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. Along with this, the option of electric powertrain can also be found in it.
The new Skoda subcompact SUV will be equipped with the company’s new modern solid language. However, more information about this has not been revealed yet. But it is likely to get features similar to the Kushaq. The new Skoda SUV is likely to get a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, ventilated front seats, rain sensing wipers and 6 airbags.
who will compete
The new Skoda SUV will compete with cars like Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza. Two petrol and one diesel in the Venue market, while Brezza is available in CNG version with one petrol.
