Skoda Auto India may enter the EV market this year with the launch of its first electric car in India. The company may launch its first electric SUV Enyaq iV in India in the next financial year (2023-24). This was revealed by Peter Solk, Sales and Marketing Director, Skoda Auto India in a report.
He added that the Skoda Enyaq IV is the first electric offering from the company which will now enter the Indian market as well. He told that the company is planning to launch it in the financial year 2023-2024. Currently, the company is testing it in India.
Explain that the company is producing the Enyaq IV at the local plant in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. Here it is being exported to this SUV worldwide. The company will also source the electric SUV in India from this plant. It will be sent to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
When asked about local assembly, Petter Solk said that the company will first assess the demand in the Indian market. If the demand is satisfactory, the company may take a decision on local assembly. Let us tell you that the Enyaq iV was first introduced in 2021 in the international markets. Last year it was seen testing several times on the roads of India.

Talking about the Skoda Enyaq iV, it is powered by a 77kWh battery pack in the international model. This electric SUV generates 265 bhp power. The Skoda Enyaq iV is built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform and comes with features like a large touchscreen infotainment system, powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control and a digital instrument cluster.
On a full charge, this SUV will provide a drive range of 510 km. It will also be offered in a high performance RS trim which will generate 300 Bhp power. The Skoda Enyaq iV has already been launched in select global markets. It is available in five trims including three rear-wheel drive and two 4-wheel drive models. Skoda Enyaq iV can be brought as a 5-seater SUV.
