Rajkumar did not share much details about the scooter, but said that it will compete with many affordable electric scooters in the market.
He said that most of the customers do not want performance based expensive electric scooters. Budget electric scooter models are in high demand in the electric vehicle market. Therefore, the company is focusing on bringing affordable electric scooters for the low budget customers. This electric scooter is expected to be launched by the end of this year. Meanwhile, Simple Energy has tied up with lithium-ion battery maker C4V under which both the companies will work to create a lithium-ion ecosystem in the country.
Simple Energy launched its first performance electric scooter Simple One in India on August 15, 2021. The scooter received an overwhelming response from the customers and within just three days the company got bookings for 30,000 units.

This electric scooter gets a 4.8 kWh portable lithium-ion battery pack which weighs around 6 kg. This battery can be easily charged at home by removing it from the scooter. The company claims that with a simple loop charger, this scooter can be charged to run for 2.5 kilometers in just 60 seconds.
The Simple One e-scooter can be driven up to 203 kms in Eco mode and 236 kms in Indian Drive Cycle (IDC) conditions on a single full charge. It has a top speed of 105 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 50 kmph in just 3.6 seconds. The scooter gets 4.5 kW of power output and 72 Nm of torque.
The design of this electric scooter is quite modern and advanced. The scooter is so stylish that you will love it at just a glance. It gets 30-litre boot capacity, 12-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch customized digital dashboard, on-board navigation, geo-fencing, SOS messages, document storage, tire pressure monitoring system and Bluetooth connectivity. The company has fixed the price of Simple One e-scooter at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the e-scooter is after FAME-2 subsidy. The actual cost of the scooter may differ from state to state. In the states where electric vehicles are also being subsidized, this scooter will be available for less than Rs 1 lakh. The company has already started production of the scooters and deliveries are expected to start by June 2022.
