Paytm Fastag accounts have been banned by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Now no one will be able to do new top-up and now users will have to start using the new Fastag.
If Paytm Fastag is installed in your vehicle then there is bad news for you. Now Paytm Fastag accounts are out-of-service and will not work. Now users will not be able to recharge their account. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) had sent a notice to users this week asking them to switch to the new Fastag and giving them time till March 15.
Fastag of about 40 other banks can be used
NHAI has given a list of about 40 other banks and fintech companies, on whose behalf Fastag issued can be used. The list of these banks includes Airtel Payments Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, J&K Bank, Punjab National Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank and Yes Bank etc.
This is how you can deactivate Paytm Fastag account
To close Paytm Fastag account, you can call the toll-free number and talk to a Paytm representative, or you can deactivate the account by going to the Paytm app.
With the help of toll-free number
First of all call the toll-free number 1800 120 4210.
– After this you will have to provide the mobile number which is registered with Fastag. Apart from this, Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) or Tag ID will have to be mentioned.
– After this the support agent will help in closing the account.
With the help of Paytm app
– Open Paytm App in your phone.
– Now tap on the profile icon visible on the left side of the app.
– After this tap on Help & Support option.
– Here you will have to go to Banking Services and Payments option and select Fastag.
– Finally, after tapping on Chat with Us, you will have to submit the request for account deactivation and the Fastag account will be closed.
