Shani Pradosh Vrat 2025: Today is the first Shani Pradosh fast of the year 2025 and it has special significance in the scriptures. Pradosh Vrat is observed on the Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha of every month and when this Vrat falls on a Saturday then it is called Shani Pradosh. This fast is considered extremely auspicious for the worship of Shanidev and Lord Devadhidev Mahadev which provides peace, prosperity and freedom from diseases in life.
Importance of Shani Pradosh fast
By observing Shani Pradosh fast, the ill effects of Shani Dosh and Sadesati are reduced. By the grace of Shani Dev, difficulties in life are reduced. Worship of Lord Shiva has special significance in this fast. By observing this fast one gets the special blessings of Lord Shiva and all troubles go away. By observing Shani Pradosh fast, if you have any health related problems, you get relief from them also. This fast is also considered helpful in curing diseases. Due to the effect of fasting, there is economic progress in life and prosperity is achieved.
Puja time of Shani Pradosh fast
Trayodashi Tithi of Shani Pradosh will start on 11th January i.e. today at 8.21 am and will end on 12th January i.e. tomorrow at 6.33 am.
Time of worship – It will be from 5.43 pm to 8.26 am.
Shani Pradosh fast worship method
After taking bath, wear clean clothes and then worship all the Gods and Goddesses including Shiva family. If you want to keep a fast, take a pledge to keep the fast with holy water, flowers and Akshat in your hand. Then in the evening, light a lamp at dusk in the home temple and perform Abhishek of Lord Shiva in the Shiva temple or home temple and perform the ritual worship of the Shiva family. After that, listen to the story of Shani Pradosh Vrat and then perform Aarti of Lord Shiva with full devotion with ghee lamp and finally read the mantra of Lord Shiva and chant Namah Shivay mantra. Worshiping Lord Shiva and Shanidev during Pradosh period will be very beneficial.
