The doctors said that due to the active consumption of alcohol during the winter holidays, the number of patients with atrial fibrillation is growing. Scientists decided to analyze the data of 408 thousand participants from the British Biobank to study the issue. They looked for a link between drinking and two types of cardiovascular disease: ventricular fibrillation and sudden cardiac death.
The researchers did find a link between alcohol consumption and the risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD). Scientists have once again come to the conclusion that an excess of alcohol, which is often indispensable for the New Year’s table, is extremely dangerous for the heart.
