Scientists have figured out how to live longer

The researchers stated that physical activity later in life diverts energy from processes that can compromise health to mechanisms in the body that improve health. Thus, sports can protect against cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and even certain types of cancer.

Scientists noted that there is a widespread idea in society that it is normal to be less active in old age. However, research suggests otherwise: As we age, it becomes even more important to stay physically active.

The researchers also said that increased life expectancy (up to 70 years) was common about 40,000 years ago, contrary to the belief that human life expectancy was short until recently.

The key takeaway is that since humans evolved to be able to lead an active lifestyle in old age, our bodies need to be physically active at any age.
