Scientists claim unexpected benefits of continuous meditation

Scientists from the universities of Florida, Pittsburgh (USA) and other scientific organizations recruited 106 participants, whose average age was 40 years. All of them were engaged in meditation practices during the experiment. Before the experiment began, blood samples were taken from them, and then the tests were repeated during the practice and after. In addition, during the eight days of meditation, the participants followed a vegan diet and followed a regular sleep schedule. The meditation sessions lasted 10 hours a day and took place in silence.

Three months after the practice, scientists recorded a surge in the activity of 220 genes associated with immunity, including 68 genes associated with interferon signaling. This is important for developing a healthy pregnancy and protecting against various diseases.
